Gallup Missions:Day 3

I am writing this post from one of the McDonald’s here in Gallup.  I had to submit some school work, therefor I missed out on church devotions tonight.  Therefore, My update is somewhat limited because I was not able to hear all the great stories from today.  However, there is still much to share.

We were back at the work sites this morning for continued work.  Many of the sites are progressing well, and several will be finished tomorrow.  Praise the Lord.  The work crews on those sites will join other sites on Friday to help complete the work there.  I was able to track down the number total people here working.  We have 256 people total.  18 crews and 20 project sites.  With God’s power and strength, we will complete all 20 by Friday afternoon.  Please pray for the completion of these projects.

A note for future consideration: Gordy and Melissa were able to make a connection to the Area Missionary, who in turn explained several opportunities that our church may have in the future to reach out to the Native American people in the future.  Pray for God to call FBC Bayfield to more mission work here in the Gallup area in the future.

Tonight, First Baptist Church of Gallup hosted a Block Party, in which our church group was responsible to operate the popcorn machine.  Everyone did a great job interacting with the people there, and Melissa shared her faith with a man and He accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord.  It was an exciting and fun filled night as we worshiped and played games with each other and the families who came to visit.  We were even exposed to a little Native American culture in the form of music and dancing from a Native American family.  It was a very nice change of pace.

Prayer Requests:

1)  More opportunities to share Christ.

2) We finish all our assigned projects.

3) A couple of the youth have been given an evangelism challenge by Gordy.  Pray that they will rise to the occasion.

4)  Weather is heating up.  Pray for continued health and stamina to serve.

5) Again, pray for our families at home that we miss greatly.

We are in awe of what God is doing here.  You have played a major part in it all.  Thank you.
